Meet Dr. Mentink
Dr. Lucia grew up in NSW 2 hrs south of Sydney with cats, dogs, sheep, horses and chickens. Her childhood fostered her love of animals and made her decide to become a veterinarian.
Lucia graduated with distinction from Melbourne University in 2016 when she moved back to NSW to be closer to her family home in the Southern Highlands. She started her career at a small animal general practice in Wollongong on NSW South Coast. Then in 2019, she decided to pursue her interest in small animal surgery by completing an internship at North Shore Veterinary Specialist Hospital in Sydney.
She then worked in both small animal general practice and emergency work in Sydney and Wollongong before relocating to Canada to work in Castlegar for 2 years. After moving back to Sydney for a couple of months, she decided she missed Canada, so has moved back again. We’re excited that after working for a couple of months as a Locum, she has decided to call Chinook Pet Clinic and Lethbridge home.
Outside of work, Lucia loves being outdoors (skiing, hiking, paddle boarding and running). She has also recently taken up ice hockey and is loving it. She has one fluffy cat called Oliver.
